The Kolumpisau suite, an all-wooden family suite constructed above the visitors centre (Walai Kopoilaan), found itself attracting a myriad of the Mt Kinabalu swiftlets, nesting under the eaves as their habitat, right from the time of construction. It has been a fascinating and learning experience, attempting to provide human dwelling place, side by side with the fauna of Mt Kinabalu, in a safe and respectful way.
We name this suite Kolumpisau, a local Dusun word for these swiftlets, and look forward to share this experience with the public.
The Maragang Suite, inspired by the maroon leaf monkey—locally known as “Maragang” in the Dusun language—pays tribute to the rich wildlife thriving in the forests behind us. This suite combines modern comfort with a deep connection to nature, offering guests a unique, immersive experience amid Sabah’s lush landscape.
