Campsite Use Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Discovery Maragang Hill, operated by Citra Kinabalu Sdn Bhd (referred to as “We”, “Us” or “Our”). By making a reservation and using our campsite, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding with your booking.

1. Reservations and Payments

1.1 All campsite reservations must be made in advance via our official booking platform or authorized agents.

1.2 A deposit of 50% of the total booking amount is required at the time of reservation to confirm the booking. The remaining balance shall be payable upon check-out.

1.3 We only accept the following payment method: (Online banking) Alliance Bank account number 1003-9001-0133-542  under name “Discovery Maragang Hill” .

1.4 Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the scheduled arrival date are non-refundable. Cancellations made more than 14 days in advance will entitle the guest to a refund of the deposit.

2. Check-In and Check-Out

2.1 Check-in is from 2.00 PM, and check-out is by 12.00 PM.

2.2 Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and may incur additional charges unless agreed upon in writing beforehand.

2.3 Valid identification must be presented at check-in. Only registered guests are permitted to use our campsite.

3. Guests Registration

3.1 Guests must provide the following information at check-in:

  • Full name, IC/passport number, age, gender, address, nationality, and contact number.
  • Arrival date and departure date.
  • Any other information necessary for administrative and safety purposes as deemed by us.

3.2 International guests without a residential address in Malaysia are required to present a scanned or physical copy of their passport and provide their nationality and passport number, in addition to the information listed above.

4. Use of Campsite

4.1 Guests are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of their campsite area and shared facilities, including kitchen equipment and communal areas. Please ensure that you clean up after use to maintain a pleasant environment for others.

4.2 Fires are permitted only in designated areas, and must be completely extinguished before leaving the campsite or going to sleep.

4.3 Littering is strictly prohibited. All waste must be disposed of in the designated bins provided.

4.4 Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 06:00 AM. We kindly ask all guests to be considerate of others and refrain from making noise that may disturb fellow guests.

4.5 Guests must respect the personal space and privacy of other guests, ensuring that boundaries are maintained at all times.

4.6 Guests are responsible for the safety and security of their personal belongings. We are not liable for any loss or damage to personal property.

4.7 Please treat all campsite facilities, equipment, and natural surroundings with respect.

4.8 Avoid damaging any vegetation or wildlife.

4.9 Any damage to shared facilities caused by a guest will be charged to the guest’s account.

5. Prohibited Activities

5.1 The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Cutting down trees or damaging natural vegetation.
  • Hunting or trapping wildlife.
  • Engaging in illegal activities, including the use of illegal substances.
  • Excessive alcohol consumption or disruptive behaviour.
  • Any behaviour that endangers the safety, comfort or well-being of other guests or staff, or harms the environment, or causes a nuisance.
  • Causing damage to shared facilities.

5.2 Guests who violate these rules will be asked to vacate the premises immediately without a refund, and we reserve the right to take further legal action if necessary.

6. Pets

6.1 Pets are permitted at our campsite only with prior approval and must be registered during the booking process.

6.2 Pet owners are fully responsible for their pets, including keeping them under control and cleaning up after them.

6.3 Pets that pose a risk, create a nuisance, or disturb other guests may result in the owner and pet being asked to vacate the premises immediately without a refund.

7. Safety Protocols

7.1 Guests must exercise caution in potentially hazardous areas, such as staircases and steep slopes, especially during wet conditions.

7.2 Guests are responsible for the safety of vulnerable members in their group, such as children and the elderly, particularly when walking on slippery surfaces or using staircases.

7.3 Guests are responsible for ensuring their own safety while participating in outdoor activities and using campsite facilities.

7.4 All guests must adhere to safety guidelines and instructions provided by our staff at all times.

7.5 We reserve the right to intervene if any guest’s behaviour poses a risk to their own safety or the safety of others.

8. Liability

8.1 Guests use our campsite at their own risk.

8.2 Citra Kinabalu Sdn Bhd, its directors, employees, servants, and agents shall not be held liable for any personal injury, illness, death, loss, theft, or damage to property during a guest’s stay, except where such incidents are conclusively proven to be the direct result of gross negligence or wilful misconduct by Citra Kinabalu Sdn Bhd or its employees.

8.3 Guests are solely responsible for their own safety and the security of their personal belongings throughout their stay. It is strongly recommended that guests take appropriate precautions, including securing valuables and obtaining personal travel or property insurance.

8.4 Citra Kinabalu Sdn Bhd shall not be held liable for incidents arising from guests’ own actions or omissions, those of third parties, or circumstances beyond our control.

9. Indemnity

9.1 By using our campsite, guests agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Citra Kinabalu Sdn Bhd, its directors, employees, servants, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses, including legal fees, arising from their stay, as well as any third-party claims resulting from the guest’s conduct during their stay.

9.2 This indemnity shall survive the termination or expiration of the guest’s use of our campsite.

10. Force Majeure

10.1 Citra Kinabalu Sdn Bhd shall not be held liable for any failure or delay in the performance of our obligations arising from events or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. These events may include, but are not limited to, natural disasters or acts of God (such as earthquakes, floods, or landslides), extreme weather conditions, fires, riots, government-imposed restrictions, acts of terrorism, pandemics or other public health crises, utility outages, or any other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.

10.2 In such instances, we reserve the right to cancel, modify, or reschedule bookings as necessary, without liability for any resulting losses, damages, or inconveniences to guests. We will make reasonable efforts to notify guests of such events promptly and assist with rescheduling where possible.

11. Amendments

11.1 We reserve the right to amend, update, or modify these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will take effect immediately upon being posted on our website or communicated through other official channels. Continued use of our campsite constitutes acceptance of any updated terms and conditions.

12. Governing Law

12.1 These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sabah, Malaysia.
